Seven of Disks Tarot

The geomantic symbol of Rubeus arises above a cemetery of rotting flesh. Vultures devour, what’s left. Left of the cadavers, we see a broken pyramid. It symbolizes, that everyone and everything must fall, to become part of the soil again. Mushrooms are growing in the lower corner of the bald tree, which dominates this card. Two guardian scorpions seam the corners of the card. They watch carefully that nothing escapes this process.
All the decomposing forces of nature are at play here. We may recognize that the most fertile ground is composed of organic material, which once was alive. The dead provide living space and nourishment to legions and become part of a variety of life forms. This card is not as negative as it seems at first. Rotting is a natural process, the time of dying and suffering is already over. However, we cannot rise again, before being decomposed to our very core and unite with the source of life. The challenge of this card is, to let these natural processes happen and to surrender to this powerful process willingly. Struggling, fighting or trying to get up, would only make it feel worse at this point. Sometimes, there is peace in relinquishment. Acceptance is the first step to soon rise like a phoenix from this time of resignation.
